Yesterday (30 March) 15 members of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) attacked 3 members of SEP with iron sticks, in Ankara.
Our comrades were able to survive this ambush with minor injuries. One week ago, fascist gangs attacked our comrades, in the same place where TKP members set up an ambush for our comrades.
While we are struggling with the fascists, the feat of the TKP consists of ambushing the leftists. The assertiveness of those who are nothing more than cowardly rats against the fascists, in attacking leftists is disgusting.
The reason for the attack of TKP is some of its former members have joined our party. The motivation for the attack is just as cheap. It is clear that TKP fears and hates the rise of revolutionary Marxism in Turkey.
Our party will try to avoid violence between leftist organisations, we are already in fierce fight against the fascists, the AKP and the capitalist system. Our Party, SEP, which consistently fights against fascist gangs in Ankara, has no way of fearing from gangs sent by the TKP loyal to the bourgeois state. On the other hand, we preserve our right to self-defense.
We condemn the TKP attack on our comrades, and invite the left to show solidarity and give the necessary reaction.
