In Buenos Aires, on Saturday, September 30, the 3rd National Anti-Repression Meeting for Human Rights took place at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the public university. It was called by the Memory, Truth and Justice Meeting and more than 500 activists from dozens of human rights organizations and social and political organizations from all over the country participated, including our CADHU (Center of Lawyers for Human Rights) and the MST in the Left Front Unity, Argentine section of the International Socialist League.
In the Commission on Criminalization of Social Protest, in addition to continuing the struggle against the persecution of activists in Argentina, we proposed solidarity with the demand for the liberation of the leaders of the Awami Action Committee, who were recently arrested in Kashmir for leading the struggle against the rise in electricity tariffs. The proposal was approved unanimously, as well as in the resolutions of the final plenary session of the Meeting.
All capitalist governments in the world try to impose their plans of austerity and plunder against the people, toughening the mechanisms of police and judicial repression against popular organizations and leaders. That is why the struggle for the freedom of political prisoners and those imprisoned for protesting should not be limited to the borders of a country, but rather extend and gather the greatest possible solidarity at an international level.
Free the comrades of the Awami Action Committee detained in Kashmir!
