The most murderous 24 hours of the conflict have passed, the Zionist genocide annihilates entire families, the humanitarian crisis threatens thousands more lives and Israel intensifies its bombing before invading Gaza.
Tuesday, October 24
Since the beginning of the aggression, Israel has dropped more than 12,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip, equivalent to the power of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. The death toll in Gaza has risen to 5,900 since the start of the conflict. According to Palestinian officials, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, creating the highest 24-hour death toll since Israel’s Gaza offensive began. No humanitarian aid trucks entered the Strip in the same 24 hours, and only 8 did so only in the early hours of Wednesday.
At least 15 hospitals in the Gaza Strip have stopped functioning as a result of the continuing Israeli offensive against the enclave, Palestinian media reported, citing health officials.
Attacks on hospitals have continued since the murderous bombing of Al-Ahli Hospital, which killed hundreds of people last week. Beit Hanoun Hospital has been the target of Israeli attacks repeatedly, according to Palestinian health officials. Authorities have said roads around the hospital have also been destroyed, making access impossible. The Palestinian Health Ministry has said that the Al-Durrah Children’s Hospital, located in eastern Gaza, was attacked with internationally banned white phosphorus. The Al-Wafa hospital for the elderly and the Al-Qassam site were also attacked.
The WHO has called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” to allow fuel and medical supplies into Gaza, warning that otherwise thousands of vulnerable patients will be at risk.
Juliette Touma, communications director at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), told Al Jazeera: “If we do not receive an urgent shipment of fuel in the next 24 hours, we could be forced to suspend our humanitarian operations, one of the largest in the history of this UN agency. We house 600,000 people in more than 160 underground facilities, including schools, medical facilities and other buildings such as warehouses… Supplies are also running out. We will not be able to do things as simple as starting our fleet of cars or starting the trucks and going to collect those supplies that arrive from the borders… We need fuel, and we need it urgently.”

The images are heartbreaking, the genocidaires massacre entire families, carrying out ethnic cleansing; meanwhile, the “international community” and bourgeois governments victimize Israel and its Nazi methods. Meanwhile, Israel once again intensifies its bombardment of Gaza and prepares to invade. The Israeli prime minister addressed the members of the Yahalom Unit, of the combat engineering corps, stationed near Gaza: “We are facing the next stage, it is yet to come.”
A missile falls near Ben Gurion Airport and 3 large explosions are heard in Tel Aviv. There are violent raids in the Yarmouk area. The Israeli government has passed regulations allowing it to prevent Palestinian prisoners from meeting their lawyers. They suddenly close the Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent entry. The Israeli Army drops leaflets in Gaza asking for information about the hostages.

Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general, Naim Qassem, assures that, given the circumstances, he has his “hand on the trigger.” Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati makes a surprise visit to the Army and UN installations in the south of the country.
One of the Israeli prisoners released by Al-Qassam stated: “We walked 1.5 km through an underground tunnel, and it seemed that they were ready to arrest the prisoners. Everything was ready and everyone’s needs were met… The government, the army and the Shin Bet have abandoned us. We are the government’s scapegoat… We had a paramedic with us all the time, and the doctor visited us every other day to check on us. We were clean, and they brought us the right medications… They treated us kindly and responded to all our needs.” Israel avoids giving the list of the 200 hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the areas surrounding Gaza.
Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder acknowledged: “U.S. and coalition forces have been attacked at least 10 separate times in Iraq and three separate times in Syria using a combination of one-way attack drones and rockets” from October 17 to 24… We know that the groups [that] carry out these attacks are supported by the IRGC [Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps] and the Iranian regime. What we are seeing is the prospect of a more significant escalation against US forces and personnel throughout the region in the very short term coming from Iranian proxy forces and ultimately from Iran… We are preparing for this escalation both in terms of defending our forces and responding decisively”
Citing the US Central Command (CENTCOM), NBC said that on October 18, 20 US service members were wounded during an attack on the al-Tanf base in Syria and another four people were wounded in an attack on Ain al-Asad in Iraq.
Macron visited Israel and proposed to Netanyahu an international and regional coalition against terrorism. The Palestinian conflict is returning with force to the United Nations, with almost eighty countries asking to speak in the “open debate” that the Security Council will dedicate to the issue. Lula says the UN could do more in the “war” between Hamas and Israel. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterates Germany’s “unwavering solidarity” with Ukraine and Israel. The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, calls for a way to free the hostages and believes that “Without stability there it will be more difficult to achieve peace in Europe.” Erdogan tells Putin that “Western countries are contributing to a deterioration of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip,” and that the “savagery” in Palestinian lands deepens with the killing of civilians.
