We present our warmest revolutionary greetings to the MST Congress.
Latin America, in Turkey and in the world, known as the center of revolution. We are proud that our sister organization MST is one of the biggest bearers of this tradition today.
It was a great task to pave the way to the establishment of ISL as SEP and MST.
The imperialist system in the world is in crisis and it is indispensable to create a world party to take advantage of this crisis.
It is more urgent than ever for the revolutionary marxist forces to join forces on an international scale without falling into unprincipled ways. That’s why we are struggling with all our might to grow ISL.
The working class, youth and women have only one option against the rotten capitalist system: this is socialism. The rise of socialism as an alternative is only possible with the rise of revolutionary Marxist forces. So ISL is the real hope that we have to built.
We have no doubt that we will carry the red flag we received from Trotsky’s 4th International further.

We are eagerly following your work in the labour movement and youth. Your mass and organizational work in difficult conditions is great inspiration for us, here in Pakistan.
Societies of Latin America and South Asia have a lot in common, particularly the similarities in between their ancient modes of production, and history of colonial plunder, exploitation and oppression. Most of all the struggle of workers and students in these societies against global capitalism and imperialism is common. This class fight against the international exploitative and oppressive order can only be fought and won on the basis of class solidarity and proletarian internationalism.
The incapacity and crisis of capitalism has been laid bare by the current Corona Pandemic, which has swept across the globe within the span of few months. This phenomenon alone explains how societies all over the world have been interlinked by the globalization during last few hundred years or so, and particularly after the Second World War. Today humanity all over the planet shares the same fate. In these times of pandemic and economic crisis even so called bourgeoisie democratic rights are being snatched away under oppressive regimes. Particularly in the so called developing countries the historic incompetence of the bourgeoisie in establishing a healthy bourgeois order has vindicated Trotsky’s theory of permanent revolution yet again. US imperialism is in its weakest position since its emergence post Second World War and finding no way out of Afghanistan where it’s so called peace agreement with Taliban is utterly precarious and impractical. This so called war on terror, which in actuality was an imperialist war of profits, has destabilised South Asia and Middle East and unleashed a new wave of fundamentalist terror all over the world. Trump may be gone but “Trumpism” hasn’t. Trump, Putin, Modi, Duterte, Bolsonaro and Imran Khan are the political expression of a historically obsolete and decayed capitalist social order. Their oppression and draconian socio-economic policies are the only conditions in which rule of capital can be perpetuated in this era. This authoritarianism has become a historic necessity of capitalism in its decay. But the problem now is not only of unemployment, poverty and privatization. Whole ecosystems are collapsing and environmental disaster is looming. Under this system the peril of wholesale destruction and extinction is haunting the humanity. The corona pandemic has not caused the economic crisis but has only exacerbated the already present crisis of capitalism. In these conditions Working class is the only agency which can pave the way for a safer and happier future for everyone on this planet through a revolutionary change in the way in which society in organized. Duty of the Marxists is to provide working class with the tool in the form of a revolutionary party through which this historic task can be fulfilled. The struggle against a global order can only be carried forward through international solidarity of working class and its vanguard organizations. In that sense we are really thankful for your courageous support to the campaign for the release of comrade Ali Wazir (MP) about two years ago.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend your congress in person because of the travel restrictions caused by the pandemic. But we’ll try to make sure our presence at your next congress. Your support and solidarity is our greatest strength. Your struggle is our struggle and our struggle is your struggle. We are fighting against a common enemy and sailing the same boat. More than that our destination, a socialist world, is common.
Let us march forward comrades with the building of International Socialist League (ISL) world over!

Revolutionary greetings to the 12th National Congress of the MST
In the context of the multiple crises that plague world capitalism, building committed and militant revolutionary socialist organizations is a primary responsibility of all militants fighting for the liberation of the working class and the oppressed.
We, Socialist Alternative Australia, have been greatly encouraged by the inspiring work of MST comrades and we wish them every success in their National Congress. We hope that the discussion and debate in the Congress will help lay the groundwork for comrades to move forward to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities of the year ahead.
Exactly at the same time as its National Congress, Socialist Alternative will hold the Marxism public conference simultaneously in four Australian cities. Ticket sales are already well above previous years. This is a very encouraging development given that last year’s conference had to be canceled due to COVID. We are very happy that MST comrades will speak at the Marxism Conference and share the lessons of their struggles.
Australia is not currently at the forefront of the mass struggle, yet Socialist Alternative as an organization continues to make progress. Our region has been rocked by intense struggle from Thailand to Hong Kong, India, Pakistan and now especially Myanmar. The heroic leading role that Myanmar’s working class (and especially working class women) have played in the face of murderous repression by the military confirms the lesson that Karl Marx drew almost 180 years ago, that the working class is the force that can liberate all mankind.

I hope you are fine. The situation in Belarus is very difficult due to the repression carried out by the government and the regime. The anti-riot forces that suppressed the mass demonstrations are now trying to dissolve them by force. The persecution of popular activism takes place in factories, universities, hospitals and neighborhoods. It manifests itself in different ways: with threats, dismissals, criminal cases and thousands of imprisonments. Human rights violations against people unjustly detained are repeated every day, that is why every day the freedom of political prisoners is called for.
Even in these conditions, we have not lowered our arms, our people continue to demand freedom. The massive mobilizations were followed by decentralized actions, which are organized in the neighborhoods, which continue and pressure from the authorities is overcome. The crisis of the capitalist economy and Lukashenko’s denial of the pandemic exacerbate our suffering.
Faced with the difficulties that we face, each revolt that we see in the world, each solidarity greeting and each internationalist support action is fresh air on our faces and strengthens us to move forward. And in this, the MST and the ISL have always been with us, supporting us with campaigns, videos, pronouncements and actions, something that we deeply appreciate. Despite Argentina’s own difficulties and the great distance that separates us, we have felt your concrete support very closely.
I regret that, on this occasion, I cannot greet you in person, as I have over the years that we have been comrades and friends. I hope that soon we can get back together, hug each other, share a meal and exchange views in meetings to develop politics and build our organizations. Greetings from Alternativa Socialista to the National Congress of the MST of Argentina:
Dear comrades, we want to extend a greeting from Brazil to our sister party and wish you a successful congress. As is our revolutionary and internationalist tradition, from here we accompany your political action in the country and share the fundamental task of building the international, our ISL.
These are times of significant challenges for our organizations and for our entire class. Times of deep capitalist crisis that with the Covid-19 pandemic became the largest crisis suffered by capital in almost 100 years. The desperation of the 1% to sustain their profits forces them to apply austerity and curtail rights in all countries, even at the risk of losing their much-desired institutional stability. But our class does not stop in the face of their attacks, it is not defeated and it faces them by carrying forward strong struggles. For this reason, these are also times of struggle, rebellion and revolution.
In our country, the criminal government of Bolsonaro is responsible for more than 310 thousand deaths and for the current situation of collapse where an average of 2,550 people die per day. Today, in much of the country, criteria are being adopted to choose which patients have access to ICU beds, medicines and even oxygen, because nothing is enough for the chaos that has been unleashed. But there are also other political leaders responsible for this happening and they are the political and union leaderships that, led by Lula and the PT, stop the advance of the struggle and call to confront Bolsonaro at the polls in 2022.
It is clear that the false progressives have nothing to offer and that opens space for the socialists. That is why in Alternativa Socialista and the ISL, we have been fighting a battle for the construction of our party in Brazil, actively participating in open debates in the PSOL, confronting the reformist leadership that is increasingly assimilating to the PT and intervening in the processes which we can reach since our recent foundation. In this sense, we want to highlight the importance of the international campaigns that we as ISL carry out and of which the MST of Argentina was a fundamental driving force, represent an important tool that strengthens our growth and consolidation.

As part of the ISL and the tasks we have for an international regrouping of the revolutionaries, we see with great emotion, above all interest, the integral strengthening of our sister party that has managed to become a bastion of Trotskyism in Argentina and Latin America.
We have analyzed that the capitalist system is navigating a deep crisis, we say this to highlight the importance of continuing to build an international tool that allows us to draw joint conclusions, take advantage of this rise of struggles that are awakening on all continents and intervene in the class struggle. The comrades of Alternativa Socialista send a fraternal and revolutionary greeting to all the militants who will be gathering from all parts of the country, to discuss and arm themselves to intervene with force on the road to the conquest of the political and economic power of the Argentine proletariat. Currently the next period will be crossed by innumerable struggles and the masses will turn to the streets fighting for rights that today are incompatible with the capitalist system in a country that, like ours, is going through a difficult time, a consequence of the decadent government of the bourgeoisie and of Argentine capitalism.
In Paraguay today we are going through a gigantic rebellion that with advances and setbacks remains open. For 3 weeks in a row, there were street battles that put the government of Mario Abdo on the edge of the abyss, despite the fact that our people, after the cry that “everyone must go, none must stay”, managed to overthrow 8 ministers the task it is still big. The struggle to build in the middle of the process a determined leadership composed of the best elements that emerged from this new stage that Paraguay is going through is the task of tasks before the open betrayal of the union and peasant leaderships who called themselves to silence.
The solidarity of the ISL is decisive to continue correctly in that orientation that the young revolutionaries of Paraguay gave ourselves. Currently, it is also up to us to confirm empirically that the ISL analyzes are correct: the world is in a pre-revolutionary stage, and sooner or later the whole world will begin a huge ascent that will mean an opportunity like decades ago we socialists did not have. revolutionaries. Paraguay is already getting on that boat today, and it shows the correct line of betting on the construction of the ISL because until now we have been the current that, although small, has had the most correct political line and has been boldly intervening in this process, bringing together and strengthening old and new activists, positioning Alternativa Socialista as a living organization that is respected and accepted by the activist vanguard.

The ill-fated government of Mario Abdo and Horacio Cartes are trying to intimidate, quarantine us and strengthen the repressive system instead of the health system, and the red judge Hilda Benítez de Vallejos, ordered preventive detention of 3 students, accusing them without evidence or evidence for the burning of the ANR during the mobilizations, a fact that is nothing more than a vile political persecution of the thousands of young people who went out to fight. Together with you we cried with emotion the approval of the abortion law and we feel part of the courage with which you shout out loud that you will continue in the streets to defeat the capitulations that the Fernández government made to the conservatism of the church and anti-rights.

I would like to salute every and each of you in your struggle for a better, just, equal and socialist world. Your struggle in Argentina is an example for all the socialist all over the world. Ni Una Menos is now a catchphrase for all the women fighting against oppression and inequality all over the world. I salute MST and its file and ranks for taking a lead in fighting against capitalism, imperialism and misogyny.
We are living through very challenging times. On the one hand, pandemic has exposed the weakness and unfairness of the capitalist system. It has empowered the socialist alternative, made the young generation question their future and given a glimpse of how the ecological system could have been if it wasn’t polluted by capitalism.
On the other hand, capitalist states introduced draconian measures, allocated huge powers to the police, security forces and are demolishing any basic human rights to protect capitalism. The protests against repressive regimes in China, India, Turkey, Poland, France, England, USA, Chile and Peru have been brutally repressed. Every sign tells us that this is not just one of the moments that will pass once it runs its course. Marx and Engels, writing in the 19th century, addressed the states as “armed bodies of men” (nowadays it is also women). The role of the existing state hasn’t changed.
One of the countries that was exposed by the covid-19 is the UK. Poverty, inequality, oppression and racism have flourished. Where public sector workers’ pay increase is frozen for millions, on the other hand parliament members will get a 7% increase on their salary. Over 1.4 million children have been facing hunger since pandemic started. Police crackdown on protests is now a daily exercise. Black, immigrant and other ethnic minorities are more likely to die in the pandemic compared to the white population. Young black and immigrant kids are 4 times more likely to be stopped, searched and harassed by the police compared to their white counterparts.
Where will the opposition come from in England? The Labour movement has been demoralised since the defeat of Jeremy Corbyn. An orchestrated attack, involving countries and every single layer of English ruling class, against Jeremy Corbyn to discredit Jeremy and the labour movement has achieved its aim. The Labour Party is now back where it belongs which is to be part of English ruling class and a Zionist supporter and apologist. The trade unions have historically been very weak and toothless since the defeat of the miners’ strike in mid 1980s. Furthermore, the socialist organisations have lost their influence and power. They are shadows of their own past. However, the recent ‘Black Lives Matter’, ‘Kill the Bill’, ‘Fair Education’, ‘ReclaimTheStreets’ and many other small but effective grassroot organisations have successfully challenged the status quo and opened new avenues for resistance and collective action.
Nevertheless, we have seen massive revolt all over the world. Latin America continent in a pole position to fight against capitalism, imperialism and inequality. Argentinean working class and militant youth have demonstrated a fighting spirit since the beginning of the millennium. I am unequivocally convinced that if there would be a crack in capitalism and imperialism that will come from Latin America. Argentine socialists are in a position to lead this fight. I have no doubt that MST will play a significant role in this fight. The socialist all over the world are looking up to you and socialist from Bolivia, Chile, Brazil….to lead the way. And you will.
Again, I salute your 12th congress and reiterate that I am proud to know MST and its members.
