On July 7, the peaceful “Saba Saba” march in Nairobi was brutally repressed, while protesting against the high cost of living and the austerity Finance Bill that the National Assembly is preparing to adopt. The repressive forces attacked demonstrators with clubs, rubber bullets and tear gas. Several were injured and among those detained there are comrades of the Mathare and Kayole Social Justice Centers that articulate with the Revolutionary Socialist League, ISL section in Kenya. We send all our international solidarity, we demand the immediate release of those detained and are available for whatever is needed.
