After 41 years of struggle and perseverance in French prisons, the prisoner Georges Abdallah was released from prison and headed to Lebanon. Comrade Georges Abdallah’s plane arrived at Beirut airport at 2pm and a large crowd of politicians, comrades and activists were waiting for him. In his first statement, Georges expressed that his freedom would not have been possible without all the struggles undertaken by the comrades in Lebanon and around the world, and that imperialism only submits to power balance. He greeted the Palestinian people and the steadfast people of Gaza, and called on the Arab peoples to act and pressure their governments to support the Palestinian people. He highlighted the role of the Egyptian state in the siege and called on the Egyptian people to act and force the Egyptian authorities to open the Rafah crossing in order to allow aid in. The caravan then headed towards Beirut with several stops where people gathered and greeted the Georges. Later, he went to his hometown, Qobayat, where a festival will be held to welcome him.

We affirm Comrade Georges’ words. The fundamental issue was and is Palestine and the confrontation with imperialism and capitalism, freedom and liberation are inseparable and change can be achieved only through organized work, perseverance and complete revolutionary commitment.
