The founding congress of the Permananet Revolutinoary Congress (PRC), section of the International Socialist League in Kenya, began today in Nairobi with delegates from Mombasa, Nyeri and Nairobi itself.
The event began with internationalist greetings sent by Alejandro Bodart and Imran Kamyana of the ISL Coordination, Cele Fierro of the Argentine MST, Bill Mullen of Socialist Horizon in the US, Tamara of the NPA-R in France and comrades of Socialist Alternative of Australia.

The first session session on the political perspectives was kicked off by Vince of the ISL and Ezra of the PRC provisional leadership. The ensuing debate enriched the central document of the founding congress.


Comrade Sussy of the University of Nairobi presented the second session on the youth and student movement, which discussed a perspective and set of tasks for the PRC in the student movement.

Finally, comrade Maryanne presented the third session on revolutionary feminism. On the basis of the ISL document on gender and LGBTQI rights, a perspective for Kenya and Africa was discussed to be voted on with the resolutions of this congress.

Tomorrow, the congress with discuss the program of the PRC , vote the resolutions presented, elect the new organization’s national leadership and delegation to the ISL World Congress.
