CONSIDERING THAT

The Zionist State of Israel has been carrying out a brutal genocide against the Palestinian people in general and the Gazan population in particular that from October 2023 until today, which has resulted in the deliberate killing of more than 60,000 Palestinian civilians, including more than 20,000 children. Simultaneously, it has intensified its provocations and expansionist actions against the Palestinian population in the West Bank.

The Zionist State of Israel has also promoted the total destruction of Gaza city, including its hospitals, schools, and all energy distribution infrastructure as well as strategic establishments necessary for the normal development of human life in the region. In addition, it has obstructed and prohibited the entry of all types of humanitarian aid, thereby condemning thousands of Palestinians to death or malnutrition.

This has all been carried out while attacking media facilities and directly killing nearly 300 journalists and photojournalists, injuring more than 500, and destroying 650 of press reporters’ homes. Their objective is concealing any evidence of their undeniable war crimes throughout Palestinian territory. More press workers have been killed in Gaza than during the two world wars. And more journalists have been killed in Gaza than in Vietnam, Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan wars combined.

Neither US imperialism nor the genocidal Zionist state, directly financed by the US, were able to prevent a huge mobilization process in support of the Palestinian people from developing, despite the fact that the main trade unions, progressivist, and social democrat parties in the imperialist countries and over the world remained on the sidelines of the movement or, in fact, continued their support for Israel. The mobilization, which they unsuccessfully tried to stop through repression and persecution of activists accused of being “anti-Semitic” for being anti-Zionist, turned a large part of world public opinion in solidarity with the attacked people and in rejection and denunciation of Israel’s genocidal actions. This process of global fraternity was expressed in the Global Sumud Flotilla, in which we, the ISL, proudly participated. The flotilla was an emblem of internationalist solidarity which was expressed in many different ways in different countries and continents.

Trying to dismantle and halt this impressive process of mobilization and solidarity is one of the objectives of US imperialism; that had to get directly involved, accelerating the signing of the so-called “peace agreement.” This agreement is also politically aimed at guaranteeing US total control and ensuring the continued advance of its Zionist partner in the region. This is not limited to its ethnic cleansing politics throughout Palestinian territory, but also involves moving forward with its Greater Israel project. The latter being the reason why it repeatedly bombs Lebanon, and is a permanent threat to Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iran, Yemen, and the entire region.

This sinister politics, carried out under Trump’s US protection, is being pursued by taking advantage of the complicit role of multiple Palestinian leaderships and Arab bourgeoisies that are part of this agreement, together with Turkey’s government and seeks to bring back the Abraham Accords (signed with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan) to “normalize” relations with Israel. The emerging imperialisms, China and Russia, inaction and complicity with Israel have allowed this Zionist genocide to continue. In the meantime, they also continue doing important and lucrative commercial business with Israel.

This deceitful peace agreement also takes advantage of the profound mistakes made by Hamas leadership, which failed to secure either a positive agreement or real support from Iran after the events of October 7, 2023 and then had to endure a brutal attack and genocide. And now makes another mistake by accepting this so-called peace agreement, which does not guarantee any of the most important Palestinian rights and, ultimately, will not guarantee peace in the region either.

At the time this agreement was made, the joy of Gazans due to the cessation of the bombings and the fact that many of them were able to return to their land was understandable but we must not lose sight of the fact that the underlying objective of the so-called peace agreement is precisely to deny the Palestinian people their right to possess and govern their entire historic territory. Therefore, while understanding and sharing the Palestinian people’s wish to stop genocide, it is necessary to be clear and explain all the contradictions and underlying problems contained in this deceptive “peace agreement.”

To date, the end of the attacks and bombings has not been truly achieved. In the last month alone, more than 300 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, many others have been wounded. On several occasions, there have been continued bombings of the Gaza Strip and hundreds of houses and buildings. Humanitarian aid enters only partially and under Zionist and imperialist control. The Palestinian people continue to lose territory to Zionist settlers in the West Bank, where the IDF has intensified its aggressive military actions while their Zionist offensive to seize Jerusalem completely continues.

This situation actually confirms what is contained in the agreement, which does not oblige the Zionist army to withdraw completely from the region. On the contrary, it guarantees its presence and the development of its military and political objectives. Trump, as part of his strategy to impose his politics in the region, is promoting the creation of a new military force in Gaza by early 2026, under his leadership, with the participation of different countries, the approval of the UN, and, in parallel, the destruction of all military infrastructure belonging to organizations they consider terrorist.

Ultimately, it is clear that everything that is happening in Gaza and throughout the Palestinian territory confirms once again that no free Palestinian state, from the river to the sea, will be possible as long as a colonial, expansionist, and genocidal state like Israel exists within its historic lands. Today, it is very clear that Israel and the US will never allow Palestinians to exercise that political and territorial right. It is also clear that they continue with their strategic project of complete ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people and the construction of a “Greater Israel” by conquering more and more territories.

FOR ALL THESE REASONS, THE 3RD CONGRESS OF THE ISL RESOLVES:

To call for the continued development of large-scale, unified actions of solidarity and support for the Palestinian people throughout the world and explain the deceitful nature of this agreement, as it is being used to confuse and slow down mobilization. Therefore, there is a combined task of unmasking the imperialist plans of the United States and the Zionist State of Israel, while continuing to carry out actions for Palestine throughout the world. Promoting large mobilizations, strikes, rallies, events, discussion forums, and all kinds of actions that uphold the demands for a free Palestine from the river to the sea, against genocide, ethnic cleansing, the blockade of humanitarian aid, the defense of persecuted activists, and demand that governments break with Israel. Furthermore, the Zionist and US armies must be removed from all Palestinian territory. The ISL is at the disposal of the broadest unity of action for Palestine, which is a cause for all humanity, all over the world.

To continue denouncing this false “peace agreement,” which, in addition to being deceptive and not seeking true peace, is systematically violated by the Zionist army. We jointly denounce this agreement, which aims to consolidate a government of technocrats under imperialist leadership and a new army under the same leadership, in order to gain political, economic, social, and military control over the entire region. The entire structure of the 20-point agreement, if fully implemented, will mark a clear setback for the Palestinian cause and its historical rights over its territory, legitimizing the occupation by the genocidal Zionist state, endorsing its expansionist plans throughout the region, and advancing capitalist business under US imperialist control. We must also denounce the Abraham Accords promoted by the US to normalize relations with Israel.

To deepen the dissemination of our fundamental solution for this region. The ISL believes that the “two-state” policy has already proven to fail and that only the construction of a single, free, secular, and socialist Palestine, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, will allow the peoples to live in peace again. This effective and fundamental solution will never be achieved through the Arab bourgeoisie, the Iranian mullahs, or from agreements with any of the existing imperialist powers. It can only be achieved by the Arab working masses leading a revolution that overthrows the capitalist governments throughout the region, definitively defeats the genocidal state of Israel, and builds a Voluntary Federation of Socialist Republics throughout the Middle East.
