At this moment the great concentration begins at Avenida de Mayo and 9 de Julio to march towards the National Congress. From the MST in the FIT Unity we participated in the Cabildo Abierto column together with the workers of the Garrahan Hospital and multiple sectors in struggle to surround the parliament and confront Milei’s labor reform. This mobilization is taking place while there are already people who are in the vicinity of the Congress which is completely fenced off and surrounded by an excessive operation of the repressive forces.
This action of struggle is the continuation of a day that began very early in the morning with blockades at the accesses to make the general strike active, unlike the Sunday strike that the CGT leadership wanted to impose without a presence in the streets. From the early hours of the morning there were blockades on the Panamericana, where the Fate workers, the left and other sectors converged. On the Pueyrredón Bridge, the tension continues as a result of the operation that the repressive protocol of the national government set in motion with the Federal Police and the Prefecture. Besides, there were other replicas of these actions all over the country. At the same time, the day of struggle is strongly replicated with actions and mobilizations in many cities all over the country.
In spite of the government’s provocations, such as those made by Adorni, the compliance with the strike is total throughout the country and transportation is completely paralyzed, which shows the enormous repudiation to the official hunger plan. On the other hand, sectors of the CTA and the UOM are also mobilizing and converging towards the Congress area. In the Chamber, the libertarian ruling party will try to pass its slavery bill after having withdrawn the article on licenses in order to reach a quorum with its parliamentary partners of the UCR and the PRO.
Only with mobilization and a plan of struggle with continuity can we put an end to the maneuvers that are being cooked up in Congress behind the backs of the working people. From the MST in the FIT Unity we call to redouble the effort in the streets to reject outright this project that seeks to legalize the looting of our historical conquests. It is fundamental that today we are thousands surrounding the Congress to show that the strength of the organized working class is the only real limit against the austerity and surrender that the government is trying to impose.
