The second Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) will set sail for Gaza, reaffirming its commitment to the Palestinian cause. The International Socialist League (ISL) will once again take an active part in the international solidarity voyage.

New, bigger feat
On Thursday, February 5, the GSF Steering Committee held its first press conference at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg, South Africa, where representatives from Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia and the Palestinian Solidarity Alliance announced the launching of a new voyage to Palestine. This time it will travel simultaneously by sea and land, departing on March 29 from Barcelona, Italy, Tunisia and other points of the Mediterranean.
The organizers plan to have more than 3,000 participants from over 100 countries, traveling in more than 100 vessels and vehicles. It will be possible thanks to the joint efforts of activists, medical personnel, engineers, journalists and representatives of civil organizations, both at sea and on land.
With more experience and expanded objectives
It will depart with an accumulated baggage of great human and organizational value. The first mission was unable to reach in Gaza because of the blockade, but it was nonetheless successful because it became the protagonist of a collective feat, braving the difficulties without losing its focus on the denunciation of genocide and famine, it questioned the complicity and/or inaction of the governments, it resisted slanderous campaigns and it built organized internationalism.
Unlike the previous Flotilla, the objectives this time will not be exclusively humanitarian. The Flotilla will also reject the normalization of massive civilian suffering, it will respond directly to proposals to “rebuild Gaza” without Palestinian sovereignty and control, including plans that would consolidate external control while denying Palestinians the right to self-determination.”
The need for mobilizations and actions remains
On October 10, 2025, when the last activists released from prison in Israel were still arriving home, the “Trump-Israel Decietful Deal” was signed. Since then, the Zionist army is still in Gaza, murdering, occupying territories and enjoying impunity for genocide. And the Palestinians are starving, without assistance and cornered in small disconnected areas, under Zionist threat and imperialist intervention. There is no just peace but the imposition of domination; therefore, the need to resume mass mobilizations and actions in support of Palestine and its suffering people remains.
The ISL will participate again
Our international organization will participate again. Our comrade Cele Fierro (MST-Argentina) was part of the First Flotilla aboard the schooner “Adara” with the flags of the International Socialist League (ISL), which will again be represented with 2 comrades and will actively support and report on the second mission which is now underway.
We maintain out unconditional support of the oppressed people, promoting the struggle for their urgent needs, infinitely aggravated by the cruelty of genocide, ethnic cleansing and territorial occupation. With the conviction that the fundamental solution is to defeat the State of Israel with the Socialist Revolution in the Middle East and the establishment of a single, secular, non-racist, democratic and socialist Palestine; from the river to the sea.
