AGAINST CAPITAL AND PATRIARCHAL OPPRESSION

As soon as he took office as president of the United States, Trump kicked off as promised very violent attacks on the self-determination of women and LGBT*QIAP+ people: this is but yet another act in a truly reactionary, fanatical and obscurantist international wave impacting the working class and particularly women and queer people, from Argentina to the U.S. via Italy, with the criminalization of abortion and self-determination in sexual and health matters. The advance of the right goes hand in hand with the retreat of the labor movement and civil rights movements. The reactionary stranglehold in Italy is also made explicit with real police state regulations, such as DDL 1660, aimed at repressing protests. What is there to celebrate in such a framework? For us, today as over a hundred years ago, March 8 is a day of militant struggle.

Restarting from work, the only true path to emancipation

In the face of a bourgeois society that expels us from the world of work when it suits us, in the face of 34 percent of women not working to perform care tasks (INAPP), we demand entry into the world of work for women and young people on decent terms and the imminent need to recover all those rights that have been taken away from us by labor and welfare state counter-reforms. Is the solution a citizenship/existence income or self-determination income, for reproductive labor? Absolutely not. Income or wages to domestic work, far from emancipating us, binds us even more closely to the family unit and any abusive partners.

Tear down capitalism and patriarchy: we are not the welfare state of the masters!

Working and unemployed women and queer people are paying the highest price of the economic policies of the past 30 years on multiple levels: while on the labor side precarity, unemployment and eroding wages increase, reforms to the welfare state confine women inside the home, reducing services, assistance and public facilities for the care of childreninɜ and the elderly. The bourgeois state offloads the costs of care work on families and particularly on less affluent women, who do not have the economic means to pay for private services or facilities.
Resorting to abortion is increasingly difficult; this right is emptied of its meaning every day thanks to the complicit and conniving attitude of a state that tolerates conscientious objection used by religious fanatics and reactionaries as a weapon against women, and of a post-fascist government that has allowed and encouraged the infiltration of Christian fundamentalist movements into hospitals and counseling centers.

FOR A REVOLUTIONARY MARXIST FEMINIST STRUGGLE.

The most powerful weapon in the hands of the working class is that of the strike, because it hits the bosses and capital where it hurts most: the wallet. But abstaining from domestic work to find twice as much to do tomorrow will solve nothing: we need to overthrow a society that wants us doubly oppressed, at work and at home, by overturning an economic system based on the presence of exploitatɜ and exploiters, oppressɜ and oppressors, in favor of a society in which women and LGBTQIAP+ people will be liberɜ from men and allɜ will be liberɜ from capital.

We claim:

Decent work!

● Abolition of all forms of precarity and flexibility: restoration of union rights won and lost by the labor movement, abolition of anti-worker and repressive laws
● Reduction of working hours for equal pay: work less, redistribute work among those who don’t have it and have more free time
● Decent unemployment wages for those who have lost their jobs
● Minimum wage well above the threshold of necessary work, in favor of the worker(s) and not the bosses!
● Reintroduction of the escalator: adjusting wages to inflation increases.
● We want to be able to retire! We fight for a wage system, for a minimum pension above mere subsistence levels, against lengthening the retirement age.
● Reduction of the retirement age for demanding jobs.
● Nationalization under workers’ control and without compensation of companies that lay off or relocate.
● Worker-controlled safety and security for safer and healthier working conditions.
● Abolition of all laws compressing union and strike rights, abolition of the crime of roadblock, no to unlawful preceptions
● Institution of the crime of murder at work
● Fight against slavery, forced labor, and harassment, blackmail and sexual violence in the workplace
● Socialization of care work against any proposal of wages to housewives or existence income. Socialized care tasks and not on our backs!
● Extended 100% paid parental leave extended to all parents, parental responsibility is not only women’s!
● Nationalization under social control of private care-related services, abolition of corporate welfare and diversion of funds to public services
● Establishment of an extraordinary wealth of 10% on the richest 10% to fund schools and health care, and all care-related services.
● Abolition of all laws that pathologize LGBTQIAP+ subjectivities and establishment of protected, free and guaranteed pathways to self-determination
● Combating the exploitation of prostitution and human trafficking.
● Creation of a guaranteed pathway for victims of heterocispatriarchal violence but rejection of mandatory reporting
● Free, safe, free and guaranteed abortion, promotion of pharmacological abortion, abolition of the preliminary interview
● Free, freely available and guaranteed contraception
● Effective support for motherhood with socialization of care tasks and adequate facilities to support mothers
● Combating obstetric and misogynistic violence in women’s care
● Stop evictions. Guaranteed housing for all* , including immigrat*
● No criminalization of occupiers, abolition of all repressive and securitarian laws against housing movements
● Freedom to migrate, abolition of CPRs and migrant detention centers
● Reception and protection of women and LGBTQIAP+ migrant subjectivities and ius soli, residence permits, documents and right to residency
● No to imperialism’s wars and arms expenditures, immediate ceasefire in Palestine and Ukraine ( with self-determination of the Palestinian people and withdrawal of Russian troops in the February 24, 2022 borders) and all theaters of capital’s war
● No to the reactionary wave of global post-fascism, for the resumption of anti-fascist struggles, in direct welding with anti-capitalism
● For a clean world to live in: produce and consume what you need, access to clean water, land, air, expropriation and nationalization of polluting enterprises

We are aware that no government of the bourgeoisie, against its own interests, will implement these measures. The program of the proletarian class can only be realized by a de* worker* government! Only socialist revolution on an international scale can free us from the chains of capitalist exploitation and patriarchal oppression.

Let us build this perspective together! Let us weld the struggle against gender oppression to the class struggle! Let us reverse the reactionary drift on women’s bodies! For a revolutionary Marxist feminist struggle against capitalism and patriarchy!
