Ecuador is experiencing a massive political, economic, and social crisis as a result of the reactionary government of Daniel Noboa’s attack on workers, Indigenous peoples, and their organizations.
The government’s only response to the legitimate demands expressed in the streets has been brutal repression and a legal offensive aimed at eliminating citizens’ rights and attacking those who fight and denounce the country’s critical situation.
In light of this government offensive, the undersigned, along with political figures, union members, and representatives of human rights organizations express our unconditional solidarity with the victims and, in particular, with the Ecuadorian Confederation of Unitary Class-Based Workers’ Organizations and the United Workers’ Front (FUT), both presided by Comrade Edwin Bedoya Ramirez.
We call on all institutions, democratic figures, unions, and political organizations around the world to speak out in this respect to prevent the Noboa government from continuing its repressive actions and cese its constant attacks on the people who take to the streets to defend their rights.
