For the overthrow of the theocratic dictatorship by a proletarian and popular revolution, not by imperialist and Zionist bombers.
Neither shah nor mullah. For a government of workers and women in Iran
The new U.S. Zionist war against Iran is an imperialist war.
The “democratic” justifications with which it is covered are grotesque. Even more so in the mouth of a genocidal regime like the Zionist one and of the reactionary government of the first imperialist power on the planet.
The very pretense of imposing on Iran the renunciation of nuclear energy and nuclear armament reflects the boundless arrogance of Israel and the imperialist powers that support it. By what right does a nuclear-armed colonial state and the imperialist nuclear powers that arm it pretend to impose on the Iranian state the renunciation of its own defense and military sovereignty? What right do the powers responsible for all past and present crimes have to set themselves up as gendarmes of the world? What “international law” can this Zionist state, which has flouted all rights, starting with Palestine, invoke?
As revolutionary Marxists, we are staunch enemies of the reactionary clerical-fascist clerical regime of Iran and against any absurd pretension to inscribe it in a supposedly progressive international camp. Especially today, when it is a regime responsible for the bloody repression of youth, women, workers and the Kurdish, Belarusian and Azeri minorities. But we oppose the mullahs’ regime from the side of the democratic and social reasons of the oppressed masses, for a perspective of workers’ and popular government. Not from the opposite side of the Zionist and American bombers. Whose only objective is to install in Teheran their own puppet government, integrated in the “new Middle East” dominated by the United States. That is why, in the war unleashed by Israel and the United States against Iran, we take the side of Iran, which has every right to defend itself and to retaliate against the aggression.
For our part, this does not mean giving political support to the Iranian regime. The popular masses of Iran have the unconditional right to fight to overthrow the clerical-fascist government that oppresses them, even in the course of the war itself. The motives of the Iranian revolution have priority. But their aspirations for freedom have objectively nothing to do with the cynical colonial interests of those who today bomb their country and their schools.
The new war against Iran is an integral part of the more general war waged by the Zionist state, with full imperialist support, throughout the region. After occupying Gaza, colonizing the West Bank, attacking Lebanon, extending the occupation of the Syrian Golan, striking Yemen and bombing Iran for twelve days in the June war, now the warmongering Netanyahu government is once again directing its bombers against Iran, to complete the job, with the decisive collaboration of Donald Trump. The Trump-led Peace Council stands as the management and administration structure of the new order in the Middle East.
We oppose this global neo-colonial plan, from the side of the reasons of the oppressed peoples of the region, starting with the reasons of the Palestinian people and the Kurdish people. Only the liberation of Palestine, of the Arab nation, of the entire Middle East, from the presence of Zionism and imperialism can bring a just peace to the region. Inseparable from the rights of self-determination of all oppressed people. Inseparable from the overthrow of every oppressive regime.
For a free, secular and socialist Palestine, united from river to sea, within a socialist federation of the Middle East.
For the self-determination of all the peoples of Iran and their unification in the regional socialist federation.
