During the morning of Monday, April 20, GSF ships carried out a maritime action against the MSC Maya cargo ship, as a denunciation of the commercial complicity with Israel in the Mediterranean.

The Global Sumud Flotilla issued a statement informing of its civil interception of the vessel MSC Maya in order to disrupt the supply chain to the State of Israel. It is a container cargo vessel operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company, bound for the ports of Ashdod and Haifa.
Beyond the appearance of commercial neutrality, there is increasing evidence of Mediterranean Shipping Company’s complicit role in the logistics of genocidal Zionism, using lesser-known routes and ports and even sharing agreements with the Israeli national shipping line, ZIM.
The GSF, made up of civil activists, carries out the denunciations and actions that governments do not, with all the means at its disposal. For this reason, the first civil action of this kind at sea is of great importance.
Dockworkers have long been on the front line of supply chain resistance, setting an example from the working class in various ports in Italy, Barcelona and others. It has also been carried out by the global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
More than ever, we must surround Palestine and the Global Sumud Flotilla with solidarity, with actions on land, on the docks and in the factories linked to the murderous supply of arms to the State of Israel and also in the streets, with mobilizations that demand the breaking of relations of the governments with Israel and the impediment to the arrival of military supplies.
The action highlights the role of the activists of the Flotilla, among them Cele Fierro and Raul Laguna of the ISL, whose ships carry solidarity, food, doctors and teachers for the Palestinian people and not supplies in the shade. It also demonstrates the will of the Flotilla and the activists who put their bodies on the line, and give strength to multiply solidarity and actions on land, as it continues their navigation towards the next stop in Syracuse.
