We, the Left Front-Unity (FIT-U), denounce and repudiate the attacks that the US carried out last night on Venezuelan territory and population and the kidnapping of Maduro, making a new and dangerous leap in its criminal policy on Venezuela and above all its clear attempt at military and political control of Venezuela and the entire continent. This is the implementation of the “Trump Corollary” to the “Monroe Doctrine”, which aims at transforming Latin America into the US backyard.

In the face of this outrageous situation, no one can remain silent or still. Today we have to take to the streets to demand an end to these attacks and military interventions, starting with the repudiation of all the interference actions, many of them illegal, that have been carried out up to now.

Our opposition to the Maduro regime does not prevent us from being fully against this monstrous attack against the entire Venezuelan people and in the service of gaining economic and political control of the region. None of this will be positive for the country, which has the right to fight and to decide freely and on its own destiny without any kind of imperialist interference.

For this reason, we will participate this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the independent and anti-imperialist rally that is already self-convening towards the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires.

We also believe it is very important to organize for next Monday, a much larger, comprehensive, unitary and forceful action, where hundreds of organizations can express themselves and mobilize their militants and sympathizers. So that our repudiation and solidarity can be strongly felt.
