The Pro Santa Cruz Civic Committee, political organ of the Santa Cruz oligarchy, in its May 24 statement, admits that there is a POWER VACUUM and urges the executive power to declare a State of Exception. Meanwhile, it threatens the workers, peasants and popular movement with going out to unblock the roads on their own, inciting their fascist gangs like the UJC to action.
This is a political orientation that comes from U.S. imperialism led by Donald Trump, which guides the rickety regime of Rodrigo Paz to confront dual power with the military-police offensive.
Paz and the Chamber of Senators have placed themselves at the order of imperialism and the national oligarchy, abrogating Law 1341, in order to leave the way open for declaring the State of Exception. The law has yet to be reviewed by the Congress.
However, the dual power of workers, peasants and impoverished people in fact governs the Troncal Axis of the country. Paz has lost all authority and control. The struggle lacks only the last step: to organize the entrance to Plaza Murillo.
Just as the oligarchy is clear about its ruling class consciousness and calls on its government to brutally crush the mobilized people, we in the working class must respond to this attack with class consciousness and call on the leaders of the COB, CSUTCB, Túpaj Katari and combative Fejuves to organize the seizure of power. Do not give the fascists time.
Enough doubts and hesitations! Enough running away from political discussion!
Extending the Power Vacuum too long gives the exploiters time to reorganize to try to crush the people. This is extremely dangerous!
Leaders of the workers’, peasants’ and people’s alliance: You must organize the decisive battle! Take power!
We state once again that the government is now rachitic, it had to reduce its salary and that of its ministers by 50%, yielding to the pressure of the struggle, dreaming of saving itself, just as Sanchez de Lozada did in 2003 days before his fall. And in his agony he is preparing with imperialism a new military offensive. Let us not allow it! We the masses have already defeated the two previous police-military offensives. We can win!
