The majority leadership of the PSOL, formed by the bloc “PSOL de Todos las Lutas” (Primavera, Revolución Solidaria, Insurgencia, Resistencia, Subverta), has just dealt a mortal blow to the party’s internal democracy and political project.
In the resolution voted today, 02/11, by the National Executive of the PSOL, with 11 votes in favor and 8 against, they decided “the opening of negotiations with the PT and other leftist parties to establish an electoral alliance in the 2022 elections behind the candidacy of former President Lula.” The candidacy that they are signing is possibly of a Lula-Alckmin formula, that is, they are leading the PSOL into a project of a bourgeois government with a popular front, far from the struggles that the working class and poor people are putting up in defense of their gains.
From Alternativa Socialista and Luta Socialista (internal tendencies of the PSOL) we are absolutely against this decision that tramples the membership, ignores the statutory bodies and even the National Congress of the PSOL, which months ago decided to convene an Electoral Conference in the month of April. We call on all currents and the independent membership of the socialist left to confront this new and brutal attack so that we can hold an urgent meeting and discuss the steps to follow in the face of this situation of total liquidation of the Socialism and Liberty Party that we have all built.
