Our comrade Cele Fierro, of the MST-Argentina and the ISL, will be traveling to Lima, to accompany the enormous process of struggle that their people have been carrying out for two months.
Invited by the comrades of the International Socialist League, she will participate in the National Strike and the mobilizations on February 9. In addition, activities and meetings with comrades from different parts of the country have already been scheduled.
This new national strike wrested from the bureaucracy is the result of the road blockades, strikes in different sectors, the organization of the communities and the mobilizations that have been going on throughout the country since the beginning of December of last year. It is estimated that the magnitude of this national action has not been seen since the 1970s.
In spite of the brutal repression carried out by the coup and illegitimate government of Boluarte and the Congress, which already has more than 60 dead and thousands of wounded and detained, the mobilization and struggle of the people continue.
The strength of this process, expressed in the streets, unifies the fighters in the demand for Boluarte’s departure and the closing of Congress, to put an end to the Fujimori regime.
With the comrades of the International Socialist League of Peru we insist on not trusting in any solution coming from this corrupt and repressive regime. Early elections are not the solution that the Peruvian people need. We call to unify and coordinate nationally all those who are struggling, the social, peasant and union organizations and the forces of the revolutionary left, so that this unity will be the one that takes over the government, throwing out Boluarte and all the coup supporters, and calls for a Constituent Assembly, free and sovereign, so that once and for all all the levers of the economy are at the service of the social majorities, of the workers, peasants, youth, instead of at the service of the corrupt, corporations and imperialism.
Peru is walking the path of rebellion today as did other peoples of Latin America and the world. The enormous challenge we revolutionaries have is to channel that strength until the final triumph of the working class and the people.
