Today, Saturday 25, one year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in Paris, around 2,000 people responded to the call of the Interunion formed by the CFDT, CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, UNSA, Solidaires and FSU to march from Place de la République to Place de la Bastille in solidarity with the Ukrainian resistance. A large section of the Ukrainian community participated and there were also signs reading “Russians against the war”. Beyond the differences, some of us, militants of the revolutionary wing of the NPA, were present at the rally with our own leaflet, critical of Putin and NATO.
The slogans of the convening organizations, which in July and December have sent humanitarian aid, were: Solidarity with the resisting Ukraine! Death to Putin’s war! Russian troops out of Ukraine! Peace in Ukraine, freedom in Russia and Belarus!
Among other concepts, their appeal expresses: “The Frenzian trade unions also support the Ukrainian trade unions in their struggle against the anti-social reforms because the Ukraine of tomorrow must be an example of democracy based on respect for social rights and trade union freedoms”. Similar rallies were also held in Marseille, Lyon, Montpellier and other cities in France.
