The agreement between Trump and Israel proves again and again its favorable character to the Zionist occupation. Solidarity actions must be accompanied by proposals for a revolutionary and socialist strategy.

More murders and colonization
Since the so-called “ceasefire” came into effect, Zionist violence has not stopped as more than 400 Palestinians have been killed. The truce is used as a political cover to sustain the military siege and collective punishment of Gaza, which continues to be subjected to destructive attacks and the use of hunger as a weapon of war.
In parallel, the policy of expulsion and colonization advanced both in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, where the Israeli army demolished at least 13 Palestinian homes, leaving some 90 people displaced. These are not isolated events, but part of a sustained strategy of ethnic cleansing, aimed at forcibly changing the demographic composition and consolidating colonial control.
This has been reconfirmed by the aggressors themselves. On December 23, Israel’s Defense Minister bluntly stated the government’s strategic objective: to keep troops permanently in Gaza and to move forward with the recolonization of the north of the territory “at the appropriate time”. The official statement confirms that there is no intention of withdrawal or recognition of national rights, but rather a plan of indefinite occupation and territorial appropriation to build “Greater Israel”.

More restrictions and repression by the imperialist Zionist society
There is also a tightening of the regime of confinement of the Palestinian population. Various analyses describe the Israeli project as the construction of a veritable “Alcatraz” for the Palestinians: a system of total control, segregation, walls, military posts and collective punishment, turning entire territories into open-air prisons. The siege on Gaza became even more suffocating with new restrictions preventing the access of at least 37 international non-governmental organizations. The deliberate blockade of humanitarian aid aggravates an unprecedented social catastrophe: lack of food, medicine and basic medical care, in a population already devastated by months of bombardments and forced displacements.
A few days later, the alliance between Zionism and US imperialism was again on full display. Donald Trump congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu for “fulfilling the agreement” and launched new threats of attacks against Iran and Hamas. Washington thus reaffirms its role as Israel’s political and military guarantor, sustaining impunity in the face of war crimes, shoring up the regional escalation and seeking to lay more solid foundations to implement the “second phase” of the imperialist-Zionist cheating agreement.
Continuing solidarity actions
It is essential that mobilizations and solidarity actions continue around the world. In this regard, it is worth mentioning the demonstration held in Istanbul, Turkey, on New Year’s morning, with the slogan “We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced. We will not forget Palestine” gathered more than half a million people. It is also positive that the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), in which we have actively participated from LIS, has issued a statement announcing that in the spring of 2026 a new humanitarian mission will depart for Gaza with food, medicine and the intention to provide a “sustained and specialized civilian presence” in the territory. On this occasion, they plan to have more than 100 ships and 3,000 participants from more than 100 countries.

Free Palestine and socialist revolution
The historical and present facts demonstrate that there is no real humanitarian or diplomatic way out under the rule of imperialism and Zionism. Occupation, colonization and repression are at the core of the Israeli project for Palestine and the region. Faced with this, the fundamental solution, capable of reaching a just and lasting peace, with social and democratic rights, is the defeat of the State of Israel and the implementation of a single, secular, non-racist, democratic and socialist Palestine, free from the river to the sea. It is not a simple solution, nor one that falls exclusively to the Palestinian people. It can only come with the socialist revolution in the Middle East, against the monarchic, authoritarian and fundamentalist governments, defenders of capitalism, authoritarian and repressive.
