A new Russian drone attack on the train station in Dnipro, Ukraine, left at least 13 people dead and five injured. The attack targeted a passenger train that was about to depart for Zaporizhzhia. Since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, Russia has systematically targeted Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. This year, the attacks have affected more than 1,700 railway facilities and forced the evacuation of thousands of trains.

The rail network is essential for communication, freight transport, and the daily lives of the population. Attacking it endangers workers and passengers and exacerbates the suffering of the civilian population. We must condemn Russia’s aggression and redouble international solidarity with the Ukrainian people and their right to resist.
